I have a MTD yard Machine snowblower with a single wire ignition. sumhow over the summer i lost the key. ?

 how some of the summer, I confused the key when I went to my new home. It is a single wire ignition No ignition. If I hold the wire and extend the wire with a fairly large rocker switch between the locomotive and the context in which it is based on the desire to run?
