how do i put the belt back on the proper way? on a bolens riding lawn mower?

 i put it on the way the diagram showed me and my mower still would not start. it would fire over a little bit but not all the way and i was wondering if the swath is what's causing it not to turn over? is there a diagram that will show me how?

 Put the lever for the beat in engage position,is the belt stringent? disengage the lever is the punch loose? if that's ok charge the battery.
